Psalm 24 (ish): The Psalm Series

You can read the NIV translation of Psalm 24 here.

This is an interpretation.

My God is so big, so strong and so mighty; there’s nothing that He cannot do. My God is so big, so strong and so mighty; there’s nothing that He cannot do. The rivers are His, the mountains are His, the stars are His handiwork too. My God is so big, so strong and so mighty; there’s nothing that He cannot do.

And He’s got the whole world in His hands.

The earth is His. That means that the rivers are His; it means that the snow on the mountaintops is His; it means that the blackbirds are His. The summer days are His and the winter nights are His. The roads are His, the valleys are His, the long roads on the hillside are His, and He is so proud that He made them that we might enjoy them. The earth is His and everything in it is His: so that must mean that I am His, too.

The one who is blessed by God has access to all of this: they can drive the open road, they can watch the blackbird feed their young; they can climb trees and jump streams and build dens. The one who is blessed by God can walk with the sun shining on their face; they can feel the warmth of a fire on a cold evening; they can shelter from the rain and watch the puddles form. Who can access all of this? The one that He loves – the one that He made all of this for.

Look at Him – see how awesome the Lord is. Look at Him, that He might show you how wonderful He is. Fall in love with Him, and enjoy the adventure – He made it all for you.
