Psalm 27: ish

You can read the NIV translation of Psalm 27 here.

This is an interpretation.

God is my everything – He is the one who saves me, who keeps me secure; He is the one who I run to and He casts light on everything around me. He is the one who fills me with the hope and joy that flows out of me like blinding light. Who am I to be afraid, when I am so full of His life? He is the stronghold over my life; I do not have the time or space for anything else to claim my attention.

I will not fear when I walk through the darkness and the dangers; I will hold tight to God when the waves rise against me, for He is my lifeboat. I will stand confident when I could choose fear, for He is my confidence. His strength is seen in my weakness; might the world see His strength.

This is the way that I choose to live: that I will be found in His house, His presence, His strength, every day of my life. I am not looking at the troubles that surround me, or at my insecurities, or at the things that have come before – for I am too busy gazing at His beauty. His goodness and grace will cover me like a blanket – He will hide me in His shelter and He will be my home.

I will be the shouter of joy, I will be the singer of beautiful songs; for I am His friend.

My heart tells my head to follow Him, and it is Him that I will follow. He is my helper and my friend – when the world rejects me, He does not reject me.

This I am confident of: I will see the goodness of God, now and forever. My heart will be strong, and I am waiting for Him. He is good, He is good, He is good.
